Description: Many students would prefer to read their class material on mobile devices. With the increasing number of reading apps available and the wide range of features they offer, how do we determine which option is appropriate? In this one-day workshop, we will provide an overview of some current reading apps for iOS and Android�including VoiceDream, EzPDF Reader, GitdenReader, ClaroPDF, and more�and recommend strategies for how students can improve their reading comprehension while using them. Training Objectives Participants will be able to do the following: 1. Identify a learner�s need for particular features in a reading app 2. Compare and contrast features in reading apps available for iOS and Android devices 3. Promote active reading strategies when training students on reading apps Intended for assistive technology specialists and basic skills faculty and staff
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement is only available for travel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff. Hotel expenses will not be reimbursed.
