NVDA, an open-source screen reader program for the Windows desktop operating system, makes performing routine tasks easier for students with visual impairments. In this single day training, we will explore how students can use the basic features of NVDA for Windows to enhance their college experience.

At the end of this training, participants will understand and be able to perform these tasks:

  • Understand the functions of NVDA
  • Understand how to adjust preferences for NVDA
  • Leverage the basic Windows keyboard commands for better access with NVDA
  • Use strategies when stuck or lost
  • Perform basic tasks that students commonly encounter
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement is only available for travel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff. Hotel expenses will not be reimbursed.
