Kurzweil 3000 is a popular reading, writing, and study tool, which also has e-text production built-in. This hands-on class will review the tools in Kurzweil 3000 that students utilize to complete college assignments, as well as practice using the tools to access and edit the underlying text. The training is designed for faculty and staff who are teaching Kurzweil 3000 to students, as well as Alternate Media Specialists who are creating accessible text.

At the end of this training, participants will understand and be able to perform these tasks:

  • Learn the basic tools and layout of Kurzweil 3000
  • Use the Kurzweil 3000 reading tools, such as adjusting the reading speed and setting the voice
  • Use the Kurzweil 3000 writing tools, like brainstorming, outlining, and word prediction
  • Use the Kurzweil 3000 editing tools, including rezoning pages, setting primary and secondary text, and using the KESI Automater
  • Use the Kurzweil 3000 study tools, such as highlighting text, extracting text, and adding notes
Reimbursement Level: Please be advised that reimbursement is only available for hotel expenses for California community college Disabled Student Services Faculty and Staff. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed
